Call for Awards
ICMF Senior/Junior Awards
Beginning with the Lyon meeting in 1998, SENIOR and JUNIOR AWARDS have been presented at the International Conference on Multiphase Flows. Starting with ICMF 2019 the awards have been sponsored by the International Journal on Multiphase Flow (IJMF) and Elsevier, and they have been designated “Gad Hetsroni Award” (formerly Senior Award) and “Andrea Prosperetti Award” (formerly Junior Award).
Gad Hetsroni Award
The GAD HETSRONI AWARD recognizes an individual’s significant scientific/technical contributions to the field of multiphase flow research, as well as outstanding leadership in promoting scholarship, research, development and education in this field. At ICMF 2023 a prize of 5000 euros will be awarded, courtesy of IJMF and Elsevier. The award will be presented at the International Conference on Multiphase Flow and will be accompanied by a Plenary Distinguished Lecture from the Award winner.

Andrea Prosperetti Award
The ANDREA PROSPERETTI AWARD recognizes significant scientific/technical breakthroughs in the field of multiphase flow research made by a researcher younger than 40 years at the date of the Award presentation. At ICMF 2023 a prize of 2000 euros will be awarded, courtesy of IJMF and Elsevier. The award will be presented at the International Conference on Multiphase Flow and will be accompanied by a Plenary Distinguished Lecture from the Award winner.

Awards Committee
Article 13 of the ICMF by-laws entitled « Awards Committee » defines that the Awards Committee shall consist of the senior members on the Governing Board. It is further stated that “The Awards Committee is responsible for soliciting nominations for the senior and junior awards and for selecting the top nominees. The committee shall report the final selections to the entire Governing Board for approval.”
According to custom, the members of the Awards Committee are not eligible for either award, nor do they present nominations.

Nominations for the Gad Hetsroni Award and the Andrea Prosperetti Award
Nominations should include:
- Type of the award
- Name, address, and e-mail of nominee
- Nomination letter: Rationale for the award with clear mention of the nominee’s contributions that are decisive for the proposal
- Brief Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the nominee
- List of 5 most important publications
The Award Committee will then select the award winners from all nominations that are supported by a total of 3 people from different institutions with their own nomination letters.
Nominations should be submitted by February 28, 2025 to the Awards Committee Chair and the Chair of the Governing Board
